Inntrepid's Rambling's
(best viewed at 1024x768 or higher with Mozilla Firefox)

My site is about Computers and all types of Gaming. I have also included a Soap Box that I can use to talk about things I want to get off of my chest. You can check on what we are doing in our Lair (in Southeast WI) on our Computer Room Cam. I try to update my pages about every 2 weeks, so check back if you find something that interest you.

Contact me if you have any comments, suggestions or just want to say 'hi'. Oh, and remember to BOYCOTT Sony-BMG!! This includes the hi-definition DVD format Blu-ray, get the HD-DVD format instead.

June 12, 2006: Well, I finally did it. You have probably noticed that I moved to a new Web Hosting service provider and have my own domain now. Yesterday when I started to upload the new pages and pictures to my Roadrunner personal page and I got a message saying, "Disk Quota Exceeded".

I had been thinking about switching to a Web Hosting provider since last year and the error I got last night pushed me over the edge. I will have a lot more flexability and several more features that I can use. Now I have 50GB instead of 5MB, that's 10,000 times more space on "1&1" then I had on Roadrunner. Check out the link to the right if you are thinking of getting your own domain.

June 11, 2006: It has been almost 6 months since I have made any major changes here. We have been playing A LOT of board games, I have written 2 computer programs to use with board games we play, we have had a LAN party, I have started a couple of rants that I have not finished yet and I have been busy at work also.

OK, here is whats new.
1) Added some pictures of the LAN party we had in March 2006.
2) Added some pictures of the baby Chinchilla that Zac and Amanda's Chinchillas had.
3) Updated some links on the Battlefield 2 page for our stats. I have not had time to play however since the LAN party.
4) Made several updates and additions to the Board/Family Game section. I have much more regular with updating my BoardGameGeek profile then I have with my web page here.
4a) Added several pictures of our game collection and comments.
4b) Posted information on the program I wrote for Battleground Fantasy Warfare.
4c) Posted information on the program I wrote for Formula De.
4d) Updated information on my Game Log section and Games List section. Basically I am posting all of my game information and games we played on my BoardGameGeek profile and provided some links to it.

I have been toying with the idea of moving my web pages to the '1&1 web hosting service'. It is about $5/month and I will have a lot more flexibility (databases and picture galleries) and more space (50 Gigs instead of 20 Megs). Don't worry about loosing the link to this site. I will post the new address and redirect you to the new one if I do change.

If you thought I was bad about collecting and playing games check this out!
"He who dies with the most games win!"

Dec 12, 2005: We got a new Digital Camera (as a belated Anniversery present) so expect to see more pictures on this site in the future. I am still pissed about Sony so I put a link near the top to remind everybody. As a side note about Sony they had to release another patch because the other DRM software they use from Macromedia also created a security flaw. This is in addition to the one I wrote about and affects an additional 5.7 mililon CDs.

1) I added some pictures that Sacsquash emailed me of him and his and Amandas Chinchillas.
2) Dozer and I got the Battlefield 2 Special Forces expansion and have been playing that. I finally made Sergeant so check out our stats on the Battlefield 2 page.
3) I added a new link on the Board/Family Games page to Inntrepid's Gaming Log. This page has a log of the board games we have been playing and even some pictures.

Nov 27, 2005: I added a New Rant BOYCOTT Sony-BMG!! about Sony-BMG's spyware-malware copy protection scheme that was discovered.

I also added some comments to Board/Family Games about some new games that I finally picked up and made some comments about my profile on BoardGameGeeks.

Nov 1, 2005: Changed my game collection link at BoardGameGeek on the Board/Family Games page to my Profile at BoardGameGeek.com.

Changed the size of the frames a little and the fonts I use for the Link Buttons. I set my screen size to 1024x768 and checked my page. I thought I had my web page so it could be displayed at 800x600, opps!! It looks like the minimum size is 1024x768. The monitor I was working on was at 1280x1024, so I resized the frames so it would look better at a lower resolution.

Oct 23, 2005: I have been mostly tweaking and repairing this weekend, although I did manage to get some new content posted. Sorry, no new Hackmaster adventures or any new rants got posted (maybe next weekend).

1) Updated the Hardware Page, I added a new pic of Bookworm taken in the Library of all places.
2) I added a couple of games, on my wish list, to the Board Games page and added a link to my profile on BoardGameGeek so you can see a partial listing of my Game Collection.
3) The CamDown page is working again, I found a cool web page that has several examples of JavaScripts so I fixed my page and changed the way the descriptions for the Link Menu to the left are displayed. The site is DynamicDrive and they have a lot of cool examples of tweaks you can do.

Oct 2, 2005: Updated the Hardware Page, I changed the Family picture with one that is not as grainy, I added Dozers Pic from Freshman football (he has changed) and I updated some information on our PCs.

I changed the name of the 'D & D' page to 'Roleplaying Games' and added some information on the Hackmaster Campaign (similar to Dungeons & Dragons) that we have been playing.

In the process of changing the way I stored files on the Roadrunner Server I screwed up the web page that displays when the Camera is down, now I have to fix it again. What a pain.

I also Posted a New Rant dealing with Cronyism in politics and question if it is affecting our security and safety.

Sept 30, 2005: I changed my Links frame and hopefully it is a little easier to navigate. I got rid of the descriptions of the link under it and created another frame at the bottom. Now when you move over a link with your mouse a description appears in the frame below. I also found some cool images to highlight the links that I have recently updated.

I am planning on updating several pages and this weekend and will post another Rant.

Sept 4, 2005: Well, that was fun. (yeah, right!) It took me a while (a couple of days to be exact) but I did it. I got the Camera link to display a Camera down page if it timed out because I shut off access from the internet to it (Bookworm does not like the idea of being watched while watching a movie). I ended up connecting to another page and linking from there. The Good news is I have a counter and can see how many people check out the camera. The Bad news is you have to click on one more link to get to it. You are going to have to use a user name and password to access the web cam but it is over in the Navigtion frame to the left.

In other web page news:
1) I have put counters on most of the pages so I can see what is popular.
2) Inntrepids Rants is done and has its first commentary. Check it out and let me know what you think.
3) I added a "last updated date" to the Links in the Navigation frame to the left so you can see at a glance what pages I have recently changed or added content to.
4) I created a new email for just this web page and have several links scattered around if you want to contact me.

Now that I have this done it is time to, "PLAY SOME GAMES!!"

Sept 1, 2005: I was at work until 9pm yesterday but hurried home so I could watch "Over There". I do not go out of my way to watch very many TV shows (Survivor, Amazing Race and CSI) but I make it a point to watch this one. This summer I was watching "Hells Kitchen", that chief was a riot. I liked "The Biggest Loser" last spring, if the people on the show can lose wieght then I can also. I am looking forward to "The Biggest Loser 2" this fall. What can I say...I am a reality TV junkie!

My newest have to see show is "Over There" , Wednesday nights at 9pm and 10pm (new episode) and 11pm (previous week) on FX. I realize that the show is dramatized for TV and it is not exactly like things are ... over there ... but if nothing else it makes you think about our men and women serving in the military and the sacrifices they are making. I think the theme song "Over There" by Chris Gerolmo for the series is very fitting. If the series comes out on DVD, I will probably end up getting it. If you have not seen "Over There", check it out and let me know what you think of it.

This weekend I am going to try and get a new section of this website up, "Inntrepid's Rants". I am sure that there will be some friends, family and others who disagree with me on certain topics but that is what makes America great, Freedom of Expression (we can all agree to disagree).

Aug 14, 2005: Please pardon any links that may not work correctly, I am adding pages and updating the old ones. I wanted to get some new content out there as soon as possible so instead of waiting until everything is perfect I am posting what I have done. I hope you enjoy what I have added.

What a day!! I got several pages worked on and I just checked and it looks like all of the links are working. I am going to send out an email to all of our friends and relatives with the new web page address. I don't think I will be able to work on this next weekend as we have a family reunion to go to.

Aug 7, 2005: VERY LONG time and no Post. These pages are still up on the tds personal webpage from when we lived in the trailer. My cousin said that I had not updated it in quite a while, that is true. I have not had access to that server for over 4 years. In that time I have rebuilt my computer several times and I have los my original pages. Well, I took advantage of the old pages being available and saved the html code. Ha!

Sept 21, 2000: Long time and no Post. Five items to cover, since my last post.

1: LAN Party - We had 9 people for the LAN party. It was alot of fun and we played alot of shoot em up games. I may try to have a LAN Olympics next time but have no date set yet.

2: Busy at Work - We have (or are) adding some new offices. In August we added one in St Louis and one near Milwauke. This month I have been in Alabama setting up an office for on of the owners friend and I will soon be on my way to GA to set up a new office there. We are also changing to a Windows system from a DOS based system.

3: GenCon - We (the entire family) went to GenCon this year for 2 days. GenCon is only going to be in Milwaukee for 2 more years and then it is moving to Indianapolis IN. Sorry about the link it is to this years convention. As soon as I see next years page I will link to it.

4: Paintball - Near the end of August I played paintball for the 1st time in 3 years. Some of the boys friends were going out to play at a friends farm and I tagged along to sort of judge and ended up playing. Paintball Sams has their fall BIG game on Oct 7 and 8, check out their site for more info. Zac and I may go play.

5: Playing D&D - I have started the new Dungeons and Dragons - 3rd Edition game (TSR link). I have also started a new page Dungeons & Dragons. This has information on our characters and campaigns.

July 13, 2000: LAN PARTY on July 15 & 16. Same as before but see the LAN Parties for details.

July 10, 2000: We have all been busy playing "DIABLO 2". Yes, it is finally out and we have been busy. CReePy has the highest character with a 36 level Barbarian, I am next with a 32 level Paladin. Dozer's and my characters are posted on the Diablo 2 page.

June 22, 2000: Bad News LAN Party for June 24 & 25 is CANCELLED. A family thing has come up so I had to CANCEL this one. New dates could be July 8 & 9 or July 15 & 16.

June 8, 2000: I just got a NEW Creative WebCam 3 USB to assist my other web cam, a Creative WebCam2 Parallel. I now have two pictures on the Computer Room page. I still need to do some tweaking and move a camera to BookWorms computer but you can see the NEW WebCam 3 is much better in low light situations then the WebCam2.

June 6, 2000: LAN Party date set June 24 & 25 see LAN Parties for more details.

June 4, 2000: Bookworm borrowed a Digital Camera from work and I put a picture of everybody on the Games page.
